Montenegro has recently finalized its third land lease agreement for wind power projects, according to statements from the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property reported by Vijesti. The lease, spanning 203 hectares in the Sinjajevina area, has been awarded to a consortium for a duration of 30 years.

Consortium

The consortium, comprised of N1, Sistem-MNE, and Permonte, all based in Podgorica, emerged as the sole bidder for the land located in the Šavnik municipality. The leased area encompasses 17 parcels of infertile and pasture land situated in the cadastral municipalities of Baon, Timar, Krnja Jela, and Tušinja.

Initially priced at EUR 569,500 per year, the lease sum will be subject to annual inflation adjustments, as per the stipulations. In exchange for the land lease, the consortium has committed to the development, construction, operation, and maintenance of a wind power plant comprising units with a maximum capacity of 6.6 MW each.

Municipalities

Sinjajevina, also known as Sinjavina, stands as Montenegro’s largest mountain range, spanning across the municipalities of Kolašin, Šavnik, Žabljak, and Mojkovac.

Adopting a similar model, Energy 2 is currently progressing with the Sinjajevina – Part 1 project in Kolašin, slated to feature 17 turbines with a combined capacity of 112.2 MW. The necessary urban planning and technical requirements documentation for this endeavor was issued by the government in December.

Likewise, Alcazar Energy secured a land lease last year for the Bijela wind farm project, with a capacity of 118 MW, also situated in Šavnik. Notably, Sistem-MNE is involved in this undertaking as well.

In January, the ministry initiated a call for bids for the lease of 150 hectares in the Korita area of the Bijelo Polje municipality, aimed at the same objective.
